Fasting... is one of the most effective ways to draw nearer to God.

DAY 13 | EMPOWERED TO OBEY

Loving me empowers you to obey my word. And my Father will love you so deeply that we will come to you and make you our dwelling place.

John 14:23 (TPT)

Devotional: True obedience is born out of love, not obligation. Jesus reminds us that loving Him empowers us to obey His Word. It’s not about striving to meet a list of spiritual requirements - it’s about allowing love to produce obedience naturally. When we truly love Him, His Word becomes our delight, not our duty. God’s Word carries the very power needed to live it out. As we align our hearts with His truth, the Holy Spirit strengthens us to walk in obedience that flows from intimacy. Every act of obedience creates a deeper awareness of His presence within us. He doesn’t merely visit us; He dwells in us, transforming our desires, attitudes, and actions.

Obedience is the evidence of love’s maturity. It’s not a burden - it’s a reflection of belonging. When we choose to obey, it pleases the Father and invites even greater measures of His love. His commands are not meant to restrict us, but to protect us and position us for His blessing. The more we walk in step with His Word, the freer we become. Let love lead your obedience today. Let every “yes” to God draw you closer to His heart, where His Word becomes your way of life and His presence your home.

Prayer:    Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, let my love for You be revealed through my obedience. May my actions speak louder than my words, and may my heart delight in pleasing You. Thank You for choosing me even when I strayed, and for restoring me through Your Son. Empower me to live in full surrender to Your Word. You are my only choice - my dwelling place and my desire. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 12 | EMPOWERED TO FORGIVE

Tolerate the weakness of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them.”

Colossians 3:13 (TPT)

Devotional: Forgiveness is a divine act of love that reflects the heart of God. It’s not based on the worthiness of the other person but on the grace we ourselves have received. When we choose to forgive, we make room for God’s presence to move freely in our lives. Unforgiveness, however, becomes a barrier that hinders our prayers and hardens our hearts.

Mark 11:25 (TPT) reminds us, “Whenever you stand praying, if you find that you carry something in your heart against another person, release him and forgive him so that your Father in heaven will also release you and forgive you of your faults.” Forgiveness is not a suggestion - it’s a command that releases both the giver and the receiver. It is a spiritual transaction that breaks the chains of bitterness, offense, and resentment. Jesus modeled this perfectly on the cross. As He hung there - spat upon, mocked, and brutally beaten - He whispered the most powerful words ever spoken: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34). In that moment, He revealed that forgiveness is not weakness - it is strength in its purest form.

Prayer:   Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son to teach me the power of forgiveness. Even in His suffering, Jesus chose love. Help me to walk in that same grace. Remove any offense that hides in my heart and replace it with compassion. Today, I release those who have hurt me, and I receive the freedom that comes through forgiveness. Thank You for forgiving me as I forgive others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 11 | EMPOWERED TO HOPE

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.”

Romans 15:13 (AMP)

Devotional: Life can often leave us feeling weary and overwhelmed. When we fix our eyes on our circumstances instead of on the truth of God’s Word, hope begins to fade. The more we allow our situations to dictate what we believe, the easier it becomes to lose sight of what is really true. Real truth is found only in God’s Word - revealed through His presence and discovered in prayer.

When our focus shifts to what’s wrong instead of Who is right, hopelessness sets in, filling our thoughts with doubt, worry, sadness, and fear. But this is not the abundant life God intended for us. Jesus came that we might have life - and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

Lift your head and look to God. He is our hope and our strength. In Him we find joy and peace. When we are weak, we can ask Him to fill us with His strength. He is our anchor when life feels out of control. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, our hope is renewed and restored. We need only to ask, believe, and receive. This is a hope that fills our hearts, sustains our faith, and propels us forward with confidence in His promises.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I come to You in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank You that when everything around us seems to fail, You remain our unfailing hope and peace. In You, we find joy, rest, and the strength to stand firm. You give us peace that surpasses all understanding and joy that cannot be explained. Lord, as we place our trust in You, fill us with Your joy and a hope that never disappoints. You are faithful to every promise and true to Your Word. I believe You are who You say You are, and that You will do what You said You will do. Fill me afresh with Your hope, Lord, until it overflows. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 10 | EMPOWERED TO OVERCOME

Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and His demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything.” Romans 8:37 (TPT)

Devotional: Life’s battles can often feel overwhelming - moments when fear, loss, or uncertainty press hard against our faith. Yet Romans 8:37 anchors the believer’s heart in a powerful truth: “We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” These are not hollow words of optimism but a divine declaration of empowerment rooted in Christ’s unshakable love. Paul never denies hardship. He lists real suffering - tribulation, persecution, famine, danger - yet insists that none of it can defeat those who are in Christ. Notice the phrase “in all these things.” God’s strength does not appear only after the storm has passed; it operates within it. Our empowerment is not found in the absence of struggle, but in the presence of His Spirit in the midst of it. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now empowers us to endure, to stand, and to overcome.

To conquer means to win a battle. But to be more than a conqueror means the battle itself becomes a servant to your purpose. Through Christ, even what was meant for harm becomes part of your victory. Your trials refine you, your wounds testify of grace, and your weakness becomes a stage for His power. God never wastes pain - He transforms it into purpose.

This power flows from one source: “through Him who loved us.” His love strengthens, sustains, and secures us. The same love that conquered the grave now lives within us, enabling us to rise when life falls apart. We do not fight for victory, but from victory - standing firm in Christ’s love that cannot be shaken or separated.

We are empowered to overcome, not by striving, but by resting in the One whose love has already conquered all.

Prayer:  Lord, thank You that through Your love, I am more than a conqueror. When I face challenges, remind me that victory is already mine in You. Fill me with courage, peace, and faith to stand firm, knowing Your love never fails and Your power never fades. In Jesus’ name, Amen

DAY 9 | EMPOWERED TO LIVE FREELY

“…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 NKJV

Devotional:

There is a freedom God designed us to live in - one that isn’t heavy, complicated, or burdened by what we were never meant to carry. Hebrews 12:1 calls us to “lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us,” because God knows that anything we hold onto longer than we should eventually begins to hold onto us. Weights aren’t always sinful things. Sometimes they are worries, memories, disappointments, fears, unrealistic expectations, or the quiet pressures we place on ourselves. These hidden burdens slow us down, cloud our focus, and drain the joy from our walk with God. But Jesus invites us into a life of holy release - a freedom that comes when we hand over what our hearts were never designed to manage on their own.

To “live freely” means to live unbound, unhindered, and fully surrendered to the One who carries all things perfectly. It means choosing daily to loosen our grip on the things that weigh down our spirit, so we can run the race marked out for us with endurance, clarity, and peace. Every time we lay something down at His feet, He lifts something in us. Every release becomes an exchange - His strength for our weakness, His grace for our striving, His peace for our pressure.

Living freely is intentional. It is choosing obedience over feeling overwhelmed, surrender over stress, and faith over fear. When we lay aside every weight, we make room for God’s presence, God’s voice, and God’s direction. And in that space, we discover the freedom that was ours all along - freedom to breathe again, hope again, trust again, and joyfully run our race with our eyes fixed on Jesus.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for empowering me to live freely in You. Today I lay aside every weight, every worry, and every sin that tries to cling to my heart. I release what I cannot carry and receive the strength and freedom You offer. Help me to run my race with focus, endurance, and a heart rooted in Your grace. Lift every burden, renew my spirit, and let me walk in the freedom You designed for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 8 | EMPOWERED TO BELIEVE

‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who

believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24 NIV

Devotional: There comes a point in everyone’s life when faith meets its “rubber-meets-the-road” moment. The father in Mark 9 had one when his son, tormented since childhood, found no relief even after the disciples prayed. Disappointment has a way of chipping away at hope and challenging belief. Yet, instead of walking away, this weary father brought his bruised faith directly to Jesus.

Caught between faith and fear, he uttered a raw confession: “If You can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” Jesus’ response was both correction and invitation - “If you can? Everything is possible for one who believes.” Jesus didn’t shame the man for imperfect faith; He met him in his mess with compassion and power. The miracle happened not because the father had flawless faith but because he offered what little he had to the One who could multiply it.

Like that father, we don’t have to have it all together. A mustard seed of faith is enough when it’s placed in the hands of a mighty God. Our doubts don’t disqualify us - they draw us closer when we bring them honestly to Jesus. Faith grows not in the absence of struggle but in the presence of surrender.

Prayer: Father, forgive me for turning to others before turning to You. Strengthen my faith where doubt still lingers. When disappointment clouds my vision, remind me of Your unfailing goodness. Teach me to let my faith rise higher than my fear. I bring You what I have - my small, imperfect faith - trusting that You can do much with little. Help me to believe beyond what I see and to rest in Your power and compassion. Lord, I believe; help me overcome my unbelief. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 7 | EMPOWERED TO WALK IN HIS STRENGTH

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:31 NIV

Devotional: To walk in the strength of the Lord is to surrender our need for control and allow Him to lead. We acknowledge that our human strength runs out, but His strength is unending. When we choose to lean on Him, He not only carries us through difficulty, but He also empowers us to rise above it. His strength becomes the firm foundation under our feet and the steady hand that guides us forward. As Isaiah 40:31 reminds us: …”They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Just as an eagle depends on the wind to lift and sustain it, so must we depend on God to renew and uphold us. The eagle does not create the wind - it simply positions itself to ride it. In the same way, we cannot create strength apart from God; we receive it as we wait on Him and trust His timing. When we remain deeply connected to God, His Spirit renews us. He protects us under His wings and gives us courage to face trials with faith instead of fear. Our weaknesses become opportunities for His power to shine through us. As Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:10: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” Walking in His strength means living in confidence, not because of what we can do, but because of who He is within us.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being my constant source of strength. When I  am weary, You lift me up. When I feel faint, You renew my hope. Help me to soar above shame, pain, and fear, and to walk in the victory Christ has secured for me.. I am grateful to be called Your child - chosen, loved, and forgiven. Empower me to walk daily in Your strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 6 | EMPOWERED TO RECEIVE HIS PEACE

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

Devotional: Paul reminds us that peace is not something we can manufacture through control, avoidance, or striving. True peace is a gift of the Spirit, freely given and divinely sustained. We are empowered to receive it because the Spirit of God dwells within us.  The pathway is clearly laid out. Do not be anxious. This is more than a suggestion - it is a command that comes with empowerment. We cannot stop worry from trying to intrude, but through Christ, we are enabled to resist. Instead of rehearsing fear or dwelling on what-ifs, we are invited to release our concerns through prayer. Every detail of life - whether small or overwhelming can be placed in God’s capable hands, because He is faithful and trustworthy. Paul then adds thanksgiving. Gratitude is not optional; it is a powerful shift of perspective. We shift our focus from what we lack to His proven faithfulness. Thanksgiving unlocks a greater awareness of His presence and steadies us in His promises. What follows is God’s promise; the peace of God which transcends all understanding. This peace is more than an emotion, it is an active defense, like a sentinel, surrounding our hearts and minds shielding us from fear, doubt, and discouragement. It steadies our emotions, calms our thoughts and anchors us in His love. To be empowered to receive peace means that peace is not earned, but embraced. Our role is to surrender - laying down anxiety, lifting up prayer, and covering it with thanksgiving. God’s role is to release His supernatural peace, a peace beyond comprehension, to guard and keep us secure in His unfailing love.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for being near. Today I lay down every anxious thought at Your feet. I bring my needs, my worries, and my desires before You, trusting that You care for me. Fill my heart with gratitude for what You have done and for what You are still doing, even when I cannot see it. Let thanksgiving rise within me as I remember Your faithfulness. I receive Your peace that surpasses understanding - guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus, and keep me resting in the security of Your love.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 5 | EMPOWERED TO SURRENDER

Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done. Luke 22:42 NIV

Devotional: Jesus modeled the greatest act of surrender in human history when He knelt in Gethsemane just hours before the cross. He would soon be mocked, beaten, and crucified for sins He did not commit. His words were raw and real: “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me.” Jesus was not resisting His mission but revealing its weight. The burden pressed so heavily that “his sweat became like drops of blood” (Luke 22:44). Yet, in that moment of agony, He declared: “Not My will, but Yours be done.” This was not defeat. It was divine strength. Jesus was not giving up - He was giving over. In God’s Kingdom, surrender is not losing power but stepping into it. Jesus wasn’t forced to the cross; He chose it, empowered by the Holy Spirit - the same Spirit given to us. Surrender is not weakness; it is courage. On the other side of surrender lies

God’s solution for life’s toughest struggles. What is God asking you to place in His hands today?

Prayer: Father, help me follow the example of Jesus. When life feels heavy, give me courage to say, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” Empower me to surrender, not in fear, but in faith. I trust that Your plans are to prosper me, not to harm me - to give me hope and a future. Strengthen me to let go of my plans, my dreams, and my fears so that You can have Your way in my life. Today, I surrender my family, my finances, my dreams, and every concern. Teach me the freedom of resting in Your outcomes, not my own. Have Your way in me, Lord. In Jesus’ name.

DAY 4 | EMPOWERED TO BE STILL

Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10 NIV

Devotional: Life can often be chaotic. We are constantly surrounded by noise, movement, and endless demands. If we are not careful, we can become consumed by the turmoil, leaving our hearts anxious and our souls weary. But God has promised us

peace - peace that surpasses all understanding. How do we receive this gift? By choosing to be still in His presence. Stillness is more than silence; it is an intentional retreat into the secret place with Him. In prayer, we can pause, breathe deeply, and let the noise fade away. Selah. In that place of stillness, we stop striving and overthinking. We invite the Holy Spirit to fill us with His peace. We don’t have to perform or prove anything; we can simply rest and be. Here, we discover again that He is God - faithful, sovereign, and in control of all that concerns us. As we release our grip and surrender to our Creator, we are reminded that He holds us in the palm of His hand. In being still, we trust that He is working all things together for our good. We can breathe easy, knowing everything will be alright.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me into Your presence where I can be still. Quiet the noise around me and within me, and teach my restless heart to rest in You. Lord, in stillness I remember that You are God - my Creator, my Shepherd, and the One who holds all things together. When my mind races and my heart grow anxious, draw me back to that place where I can sit at Your feet, breathe deeply, and simply be. Help me to release control, surrendering every burden into Your hands. As I choose to be still, fill me with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Speak to me in the silence. Lead and guide me by Your Spirit. Let my stillness become a testimony of trust - that I believe You are God, and that You are faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 3 | EMPOWERED TO TRUST

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

Devotional: When you sit in a chair you’ve used many times before, you don’t pause to question if it will hold you. You rest your full weight on it with confidence because your past experiences assure you of its strength. That’s trust - an unshaken reliance based on proven faithfulness. If we can trust a chair, how much more should we trust the Lord? Unlike anything created, He is unchanging. “For I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6 NKJV). His dependability is not seasonal, partial, or conditional. His Word proves that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When you trust Him, you step into a place of safety. Life often presents challenges that stretch us to the edge of our own understanding. Yet Scripture warns us not to lean on our limited perspective but to acknowledge Him in everything. Trusting God means surrendering control, resisting the urge to figure it out on our own, and resting in His sovereign wisdom. Even when afflictions come, His promise stands: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19 NKJV). Trust is not passive - it is active faith that takes God at His Word, regardless of what we see or feel. To trust God is to release the weight of your life into His hands with the same certainty you place in a chair - but with infinitely greater assurance. He will not fail. He will direct your path. He will hold you secure.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for being faithful and trustworthy in all things. Shape me into a vessel of honor - one who walks in integrity and reflects Your heart. Remove the distractions and “little foxes” that hinder my obedience. Keep deceit far from me, and forgive me for any harm I have caused others. Strengthen me by Your Spirit to walk uprightly and to trust You fully. I rest in the assurance that You will finish the good work You began in me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 2 | EMPOWERED TO ABIDE

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

John 15:4 NKJV

Devotional: The beginning of wisdom flows from a reverential fear of God - recognizing His holiness and our complete dependence on His presence for every breath. This posture of humility is the essence of abiding in Him, the true giver of life.  God deeply desires that we dwell continually in His presence. To teach us how, He gave us Jesus - our perfect example of abiding. Jesus lived fully dependent on the Father, continually immersed in His presence, walking in constant communion, and perfectly intertwined with His will. Abiding often requires death - not physical death, but death to self. We must die to our flesh, our sinful nature, and our independence - laying aside anything contrary to God’s Word. The world views death as an ending, but in God’s kingdom, it is the gateway to life. In surrender, we are grafted into the very heart of the Father.

Jesus reminds us that just as a branch cannot survive or bear fruit apart from the vine, we cannot fulfill our God-given purpose without abiding in Him - His presence, His Word, and His love. Abiding is not a passive state; it is a daily, intentional choice to stay connected to the Source. When we abide, His Spirit empowers us to bear fruit we could never produce on our own - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are not works of striving, but fruits of intimacy.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to abide in You - so deeply immersed in Your presence that nothing else becomes my source. You are my life and power. Keep me  from rushing ahead or relying on my own strength. Remind me that apart from You, I can do nothing, but with You, all things are possible. Empower me to remain steadfastly connected so my life reflects Your love and bear lasting fruit. Help me to draw near daily through prayer, Your Word, listening to Your voice, and walking in obedience. May I  understand that abiding is an active choice - rooting myself inYou through surrender. In the quiet place, let Your strength become my strength, Your wisdom my wisdom, and Your peace my peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAY 1 | EMPOWERED TO REST

“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest…” Hebrews 4:9–11 (NIV)

Devotional: Rest is one of God’s most powerful gifts, yet it is often the one we resist the most. Hebrews 4 reminds us that there is a Sabbath-rest reserved for us - an invitation to step out of striving and into the finished work of Christ. This rest is not inactivity; it is intentional surrender. It is the posture of a heart that trusts God’s timing, God’s pace, and God’s ability to do what we cannot.  In a world that glorifies busyness, God calls us into stillness. He doesn’t ask us to outrun our limitations; He invites us to rely on His strength. Rest teaches us to release control, to stop forcing outcomes, and to believe that God is working even when we are not. When we choose rest, we declare that our hope is not in our own effort but in His faithfulness.  Jesus invites us to walk in the unforced rhythms of grace - a pace that is steady, holy, and anchored in His presence. Rest clears the noise so we can hear His voice. It shifts our focus from what we fear to the One who holds every moment in His hands. In rest, we regain clarity, courage, and confidence because we remember that we are not alone - God goes before us, walks with us, and strengthens us. Rest is not weakness; it is worship. It is a declaration that God is enough, His grace is sufficient, and His promises are secure. To be empowered to rest is to trust that the God who created the Sabbath also created us - and He knows exactly what we need to flourish.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of rest. Teach my heart to slow down, surrender, and trust Your timing. Help me release striving and step into the peace You have prepared for me. Lead me in the unforced rhythms of Your grace. Strengthen me to rest in Your presence, believe Your promises, and follow Your pace. May Your peace settle over my mind and Your rest anchor my soul.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
